Top 40 Best Sourcing Tools for Recruiters 2024 [Free and Paid]
40 best sourcing tools for recruiters in 2026, Matchr

A sourcing tool is software that helps a recruiter find people who have not applied yet, get a way to reach them, and start the conversation. Today that covers five jobs: searching talent networks, AI sourcing platforms, contact data, outreach, and the browser extensions that move data between them.

This guide lists forty tools across those five jobs. For each one you get what it does today, what it costs, who it fits, what to watch for, and a verdict from the way we at Matchr use these tools inside client teams. Prices come from each vendor's own pricing page, checked this month and linked in every entry.

    How we chose

We at Matchr are a global embedded RPO partner. Our recruiters sit inside client teams and work in whatever stack the client already pays for, so we see these tools on live roles across the UK, the Netherlands, the US and beyond. A tool made this list if it does one job well, is still a product we would put in front of a hiring team this quarter, and is honest about what it costs or at least offers a trial.

How the sourcing stack fits together

Most teams do not need a tool from every group. They need one strong search source, one way to get contact details, one way to send and track outreach, and a light layer of extensions that save clicks. The AI sourcing platforms increasingly bundle the first three, which is why the right question is not "which tool is best" but "which job is still done by hand in our team".

There is also a line worth drawing before you buy anything. A tool can now decide who matches a job description, which contact detail is valid and when to send a follow-up. It cannot decide who is worth a senior hiring manager's hour, whether the pay and the move make sense for this person, or how to open a conversation with someone who is happy where they are. That second list is recruiter judgment, and it is where hires are won or lost.

Infographic of five sourcing tool groups with the tools in each: search and talent networks, AI sourcing platforms, contact data, outreach and hygiene, extensions and workflow.
How the five groups of sourcing tools fit together, and where recruiter judgment still decides.

    Search and talent networks

These are the places people keep a profile. For a deeper guide to the first one, see our LinkedIn Recruiter secrets for effective sourcing.

Infographic of eight search and talent network tools with prices: LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed Smart Sourcing, XING TalentManager, Wellfound, Dice, AmazingHiring, Recruit'Em, GitHub search.
Eight search sources with starting prices, checked September 2026.

    LinkedIn Recruiter

LinkedIn Recruiter searches LinkedIn's full member network with Boolean and AI-assisted search, InMail and team projects. The Hiring Assistant add-on now builds a longlist from a job description, screens and drafts personalised InMails on its own.

    • Price: paid. Recruiter Lite is sold per seat; full Recruiter and the Hiring Assistant add-on are quote-based on LinkedIn's Recruiter page.
    • Best for: any role where the target talent keeps an active LinkedIn profile.
    • Watch for: InMail caps and overages add cost, and Lite has far fewer filters than the full seat.
    • Matchr verdict: still the first seat we look for on a client account. Pair it with a contact-data tool, because a reply rate built on InMail alone is a ceiling.

    Indeed Smart Sourcing

Indeed Smart Sourcing searches Indeed's resume database with plain-language prompts and filters such as recent activity and willingness to relocate. An AI sourcing assistant keeps running searches and sends templated or AI-written outreach.

    • Price: Professional is $520 a month or $4,992 a year with 100 contacts a month, per Indeed's Smart Sourcing page, with a 14-day trial for eligible employers.
    • Best for: high-volume, hourly and mid-level roles, especially in the US.
    • Watch for: you pay per contact, and senior or niche technical talent rarely keeps an Indeed resume current.
    • Matchr verdict: worth it for volume hiring where LinkedIn is thin. Not a first choice for senior tech searches.

    XING TalentManager

XING TalentManager is the active-sourcing product for XING's German-speaking network.

    • Price: paid on annual contracts; request a quote through XING's recruiting site.
    • Best for: DACH hiring, where many mid-level professionals answer a XING message faster than a LinkedIn one.
    • Watch for: the network only covers the German-speaking region, and message caps limit volume.
    • Matchr verdict: a second seat for teams with real DACH volume.

    Wellfound

Wellfound, formerly AngelList Talent, is the startup job marketplace. Job posting is free, and its Reach product runs AI sourcing agents that find candidates and send personalised outreach from your own inbox.

    • Price: posting is free; Reach has a free Explore tier, Starter at $135 a seat a month and Growth at $199, per Wellfound's pricing page.
    • Best for: scale-ups hiring product, engineering and go-to-market people who want startup life.
    • Watch for: the pool leans towards startups and the US, and reveal caps apply per seat.
    • Matchr verdict: the cheapest way to reach startup-minded candidates.

    Dice

Dice is a US tech job board whose paid plans include TalentSearch, a database of technology professionals metered by candidate views.

    • Price: a single job slot is $399 for 30 days; Starter is $549 a month on an annual contract, per Dice's pricing page.
    • Best for: US tech and IT hiring, especially contract and contract-to-hire roles.
    • Watch for: candidate views are capped and coverage outside the US is thin.
    • Matchr verdict: useful for US contract tech roles, rarely needed elsewhere.

    AmazingHiring

AmazingHiring pulls technical profiles from sources such as GitHub, Stack Overflow, Kaggle and LinkedIn into one candidate view with contact details, a Chrome extension and ATS integrations.

    • Price: demo only; no public price on AmazingHiring's site.
    • Best for: engineers and data scientists who are easier to judge by their public work than by their LinkedIn headline.
    • Watch for: no self-serve trial, and it has been slower than newer platforms to add AI agents.
    • Matchr verdict: strong for hard technical searches, but ask for a trial on a live role before signing.

    Recruit'Em

Recruit'Em builds Google X-ray search strings for LinkedIn, GitHub, XING, Dribbble and other sites from a job title, location and keywords.

    • Price: free, no sign-up, on recruitin.net.
    • Best for: fast X-ray searches and teaching Boolean to new sourcers.
    • Watch for: it only writes the query, gives no contact data, and Google no longer indexes many LinkedIn profiles.
    • Matchr verdict: keep it bookmarked for training and niche sites, not as a primary source.

GitHub user search filters developers by location, language, followers and repositories, and every profile shows real code and recent activity.

    • Price: free with a GitHub account, at github.com/search.
    • Best for: checking an engineer's actual work and finding open-source contributors in a specific language.
    • Watch for: many profiles carry no contact details, and mass outreach from scraped commit emails is unwelcome and a GDPR risk.
    • Matchr verdict: the best free signal for technical depth.

    AI sourcing platforms

The database is table stakes. What separates them is the quality of the ranking, the ATS integration and the seat price.

Infographic of eight AI sourcing platforms with prices: hireEZ, SeekOut, Juicebox, Fetcher, Gem, Loxo, Pin, Findem.
Eight AI sourcing platforms with starting prices, checked September 2026.

    hireEZ

hireEZ is an agentic recruiting platform that sits on top of your ATS. It sources across dozens of platforms and adds AI applicant review, voice screening, scheduling, a CRM and outreach.

    • Price: Solo from $494 a month with a 7-day trial; enterprise is priced against the tools it replaces, per hireEZ's pricing page.
    • Best for: mid-size and large teams replacing separate sourcing, CRM and outreach tools.
    • Watch for: the solo price is high for one recruiter, and team pricing needs a quote.
    • Matchr verdict: the most complete platform in this group. Buy it to consolidate, not as a first sourcing tool.

    SeekOut

SeekOut is an AI sourcing and rediscovery platform with over a billion profiles, multi-step outreach and job-specific scoring rubrics.

    • Price: Recruit Core is $149 a month billed annually or $179 monthly, with a 14-day trial and no card, per SeekOut's pricing page.
    • Best for: technical, diverse and cleared talent searches at scale.
    • Watch for: only the entry plan has a public price; ATS integration and agents need an annual contract.
    • Matchr verdict: the easiest route to enterprise-grade search this week, with no sales call.

    Juicebox

Juicebox turns plain-language requests into candidate searches through PeopleGPT, with AI email outreach and integrations with more than forty ATSs. Juicebox Agents can shortlist and email candidates on their own.

    • Price: free tier; Starter is listed at $99 to $119 a seat a month depending on billing, and agents cost $199 each a month, per Juicebox's pricing page.
    • Best for: startups and agency recruiters who want fast search without writing Boolean.
    • Watch for: agent add-ons stack up quickly once you turn several on.
    • Matchr verdict: the best ratio of search quality to price in this group.

    Fetcher

Fetcher delivers batches of candidates from a database of more than 500 million profiles and runs templated email outreach.

    • Price: from $115 a month billed monthly up to $649 for Amplify, with a 30% discount on annual billing, per Fetcher's pricing page.
    • Best for: small and mid-size teams that want candidates arriving without a sourcer running searches.
    • Watch for: no free tier, and the pricing page does not say which ATS integrations each plan includes.
    • Matchr verdict: close to a managed service. At the top tier, compare it against embedded recruitment before you buy.

    Gem

Gem combines AI sourcing across hundreds of millions of profiles with a CRM, rediscovery, analytics and fraud detection, either on top of your ATS or as its own all-in-one ATS.

    • Price: custom by company size; the startup programme is $130 a month billed yearly, per Gem's pricing page.
    • Best for: growth-stage and enterprise teams on Greenhouse or Workday that want one place for sourcing and CRM.
    • Watch for: outside the startup tier, every price needs a sales conversation.
    • Matchr verdict: the strongest CRM here.

    Loxo

Loxo is an AI-native ATS and CRM for recruiting firms, with sourcing across a talent graph of over 850 million profiles and agents for longlists, notes and contact finding.

    • Price: Core from $149 a user a month and Professional from $199, both billed annually, with a 7-day trial, per Loxo's pricing page.
    • Best for: agencies and executive search firms that want one system of record.
    • Watch for: sourcing and agents need Professional, and credits are metered.
    • Matchr verdict: the best all-in-one for an agency desk; a lot of platform if you only need search.

    Pin

Pin is an AI recruiter that runs agents to source, evaluate and send multichannel sequences, with integrations for over a hundred ATSs.

    • Price: free forever with weekly limits; Solo is $99 a month billed annually and Professional $135 a user a month, per Pin's pricing page.
    • Best for: solo recruiters and small teams who want a hands-off sourcing agent.
    • Watch for: ATS integration is a paid add-on below the Business plan.
    • Matchr verdict: a good low-cost agent. Read its shortlists yourself before anything is sent in your name.

    Findem

Findem builds attribute-based people data and runs agents for sourcing, calibration, screening and scheduling on top of your ATS and HR systems.

    • Price: demo only; no public price on Findem's site.
    • Best for: enterprise teams that want sourcing plus market and talent intelligence.
    • Watch for: pricing is opaque and built for large contracts.
    • Matchr verdict: powerful for workforce planning questions. Overkill for a team with a handful of open roles.

    Contact data tools

A phone number is the most expensive field in recruiting, and every tool below rations it. Count phone credits, not emails, when you compare plans.

Infographic of eight contact data tools with prices: Kaspr, Cognism, Lusha, Apollo, ContactOut, SalesQL, Nymeria, RocketReach.
Eight contact data tools with starting prices, checked September 2026.

    Kaspr

Kaspr, part of Cognism, is a Chrome extension that shows emails and phone numbers on LinkedIn, Sales Navigator and Recruiter Lite profiles, with bulk enrichment and CRM export.

    • Price: free plan with a few email and phone credits a month; Starter is €45 to €59 a user a month depending on billing, with 100 phone credits, per Kaspr's pricing page.
    • Best for: European recruiters who need mobiles next to LinkedIn.
    • Watch for: unlimited emails mean work emails under fair use; phone credits stay tight at the entry tier.
    • Matchr verdict: our default EU pick, with GDPR handling documented on its own pages.

    Cognism

Cognism is an enterprise contact and company data platform, strong in EMEA, with phone-verified mobiles, a LinkedIn extension and do-not-call list checks.

    • Price: demo only; plans are listed without prices on Cognism's pricing page.
    • Best for: agencies and in-house teams hiring across the UK and EU who need compliant mobiles at scale.
    • Watch for: sales-led annual contracts with a seat minimum.
    • Matchr verdict: step up from Kaspr when a team outgrows per-seat credits.

    Lusha

Lusha gives emails and direct dials through an extension, a search workspace, CRM enrichment, an API and an MCP server for AI assistants.

    • Price: free plan with 40 credits a month; Starter from $37.45 a month billed annually, per Lusha's pricing page. A phone costs five credits.
    • Best for: recruiters who need a few direct dials a month.
    • Watch for: phone numbers eat credits fast.
    • Matchr verdict: solid data; the maths only works at low phone volume.

    Apollo

Apollo is a sales platform with a large contact database, a LinkedIn extension, sequences, a dialer and AI agents.

    • Price: free plan; Basic $49 and Professional $99 a user a month, per Apollo's pricing page.
    • Best for: recruiters who also do business development.
    • Watch for: it is built for sales, and mobile accuracy outside the US is weaker.
    • Matchr verdict: strong on company data, weaker on candidates' personal contact details.

    ContactOut

ContactOut finds personal and work emails and phone numbers from LinkedIn, Recruiter and GitHub profiles, with campaigns, a dialer, an API and ATS integrations on team plans.

    • Price: free daily allowance; Email from $39 a month and Email plus Phone from $79 a month billed annually, per ContactOut's pricing page.
    • Best for: recruiters who need personal emails and mobiles.
    • Watch for: "unlimited" sits under a fair-use cap, and personal-email outreach carries GDPR risk in the UK and EU.
    • Matchr verdict: the most accurate personal-email finder our sourcers use outside Europe.

    SalesQL

SalesQL finds emails and phone numbers from LinkedIn, Sales Navigator and Recruiter, with CSV enrichment, a verifier and CRM integrations.

    • Price: free with 50 credits a month; Basic $39, Professional $79 with 3 seats, Organization $119 with 15 seats, per SalesQL's pricing page.
    • Best for: small teams that want many credits per euro with seats included.
    • Watch for: phone coverage is weaker than the specialists.
    • Matchr verdict: the best value per seat in this group.

    Nymeria

Nymeria is a browser extension and API that finds emails and phone numbers from LinkedIn, GitHub and other profiles, and charges only for successful lookups.

    • Price: Nano $39, Micro $79 and Kilo $159 a month, with unlimited team members, per Nymeria's pricing page.
    • Best for: technical sourcers who live on GitHub.
    • Watch for: credit volumes are small and do not roll over.
    • Matchr verdict: simple, honest pricing for a small tech team.

    RocketReach

RocketReach is a large people and company database with an extension, bulk lookup, an API and ATS integrations.

    • Price: paid plans with a small free allowance; check current tiers on RocketReach's site, as we could not confirm them this month.
    • Best for: broad cross-industry lookups beyond tech.
    • Watch for: export caps, not lookups, drive the real cost, and phones need a higher plan.
    • Matchr verdict: useful breadth; test coverage on your own market before a yearly plan.

    Outreach and email hygiene

Finding the person is half the job. These tools send, pace and protect the message.

Infographic of eight outreach tools with prices: lemlist, SourceWhale, Waalaxy, Dux-Soup, Snov.io, Hunter, Bouncer, Crystal.
Eight outreach and hygiene tools with starting prices, checked September 2026.

    lemlist

lemlist runs multichannel sequences across email, LinkedIn, SMS and calls, with warm-up, a deliverability hub and a lead database.

    • Price: Email $55 a month billed annually or $69 monthly; Multichannel $87 a user a month annually, per lemlist's pricing page, with a 14-day trial.
    • Best for: recruiters mixing email and LinkedIn steps in one sequence.
    • Watch for: Multichannel is billed per user and enrichment is an add-on.
    • Matchr verdict: the most complete sequencer here when it is paced carefully.

    SourceWhale

SourceWhale is a recruiting-specific platform for sourcing, personalised sequences, call transcription and notes, and it now includes its own AI-native CRM and ATS.

    • Price: demo only, per SourceWhale's pricing page.
    • Best for: agencies that want outreach and ATS updates in one tool.
    • Watch for: no self-serve trial, and it is aimed at teams rather than solo recruiters.
    • Matchr verdict: built for recruiters, not repurposed sales software. Worth a demo for agency teams.

    Waalaxy

Waalaxy automates LinkedIn invitations, messages and follow-ups, and adds cold email on its Business plan.

    • Price: Pro €19, Advanced €49 and Business €69 a user a month, with up to half off on yearly billing, per Waalaxy's pricing page.
    • Best for: solo recruiters who want cheap LinkedIn sequences.
    • Watch for: invitation caps and LinkedIn's rules on automation.
    • Matchr verdict: fine for light volume; slow it down before LinkedIn does it for you.

    Dux-Soup

Dux-Soup automates LinkedIn profile visits, connection requests and message campaigns, now with AI-personalised messages and CRM integrations.

    • Price: STACKED Local from $41.25 a seat a month and Cloud from $74.17 billed annually, per Dux-Soup's pricing page.
    • Best for: recruiters running LinkedIn drip campaigns.
    • Watch for: the Local plan only runs while your computer is on.
    • Matchr verdict: a reliable workhorse; the Cloud plan is the one to pick.

    Snov.io

Snov.io combines an email finder and verifier with cold-email sequences, warm-up and a light CRM, plus a LinkedIn automation add-on.

    • Price: free trial credits; Starter $39 and Pro from $99 a month, per Snov.io's pricing page.
    • Best for: recruiters running high-volume email outreach.
    • Watch for: little phone data, and credits are shared between finding and verifying.
    • Matchr verdict: good value when email is your main channel.

    Hunter

Hunter finds and verifies work emails by company domain and sends cold email sequences from connected inboxes.

    • Price: free with 50 credits a month; Starter $34 a month billed annually, per Hunter's pricing page.
    • Best for: finding the right email pattern at a target company.
    • Watch for: no phone numbers, and weak on personal emails.
    • Matchr verdict: the quickest way to reach hiring managers for business development, less so candidates.

    Bouncer

Bouncer verifies email lists in bulk or by API and flags addresses as deliverable, risky or undeliverable. It is EU-based.

    • Price: 1,000 checks for $8 with 100 free credits to start, per Bouncer's pricing page.
    • Best for: cleaning a sourced list before any sequence goes out.
    • Watch for: it verifies, it does not find, and catch-all company domains still return risky.
    • Matchr verdict: cheap insurance for the sender domain every tool above depends on.

    Crystal

Crystal predicts a communication style from public profile data and suggests how to write to that person.

    • Price: free profile; Premium $49 a month, per Crystal's pricing page.
    • Best for: adjusting the tone of a first message to a senior candidate or hiring manager.
    • Watch for: predictions can be wrong, and personality inference must never feed a hiring decision.
    • Matchr verdict: a writing aid, nothing more. Keep it away from assessment.

Browser extensions, scrapers and workflow tools

These tools move data between the other groups. For more extensions, see our guide to 25 Chrome extensions for recruiters and sourcers.

Infographic of eight extensions and workflow tools with prices: Instant Data Scraper, PhantomBuster, Data Miner, Clay, Bardeen, Apify, Evaboot, Dover.
Eight extensions and workflow tools with starting prices, checked September 2026.

    Instant Data Scraper

Instant Data Scraper detects tables and lists on any web page and exports them to CSV or Excel, including paginated results.

    • Price: free, from the Chrome Web Store listing.
    • Best for: one-off exports of directories, event attendee lists or job-board results.
    • Watch for: it breaks on complex layouts, and scraping LinkedIn breaks LinkedIn's terms.
    • Matchr verdict: the simplest tool on this page. Use it on public lists, not on LinkedIn.

    PhantomBuster

PhantomBuster runs cloud automations that scrape and enrich data from LinkedIn and other sites and automate outreach steps, now with AI credits.

    • Price: free plan; Start from $56 a month billed annually, per PhantomBuster's pricing explainer.
    • Best for: scheduled scraping and enrichment pipelines.
    • Watch for: pricing by execution hours is hard to predict, and it relies on your LinkedIn session.
    • Matchr verdict: the most flexible automation tool here, and the easiest way to get an account flagged.

    Data Miner

Data Miner scrapes pages to CSV with public or custom recipes, next-page automation and crawls.

    • Price: free up to 500 pages a month; Solo $19.99 a month, per Data Miner's pricing page.
    • Best for: repeatable scraping of job boards and team pages.
    • Watch for: small page quotas, and recipes need upkeep when a site changes.
    • Matchr verdict: good for repeat jobs you would otherwise do by hand every week.

    Clay

Clay is a spreadsheet-style enrichment platform that runs waterfalls across many data providers, with an AI research agent and job-change signals.

    • Price: free plan; Launch is $167 a month billed monthly, with lower annual starting prices, per Clay's pricing page.
    • Best for: recruiting ops building signal-driven sourcing lists.
    • Watch for: a steep learning curve and a two-currency credit model.
    • Matchr verdict: powerful in the right hands; not a tool to hand a new sourcer.

    Bardeen

Bardeen is a browser automation and scraping tool that sends profile data into sheets or a CRM, with enrichment and AI steps.

    • Price: free credits; Basic $10 and Premium $50 a month, per Bardeen's pricing page.
    • Best for: no-code scraping into a spreadsheet.
    • Watch for: credits are charged per row and expire each period.
    • Matchr verdict: a friendly middle ground between Data Miner and Clay.

    Apify

Apify is a cloud platform and marketplace of prebuilt scrapers for job boards, maps and professional networks, with scheduling and an API.

    • Price: free with $5 of usage credit; Starter $19 a month, per Apify's pricing page.
    • Best for: large, scheduled data pulls such as competitor job postings.
    • Watch for: many scrapers charge their own fees on top.
    • Matchr verdict: best used for market mapping, not for contacting individuals.

    Evaboot

Evaboot exports and cleans Sales Navigator lists, then finds and verifies emails.

    • Price: from $9 a month for 100 credits billed annually, per Evaboot's pricing page.
    • Best for: turning a Sales Navigator search into a clean CSV.
    • Watch for: it needs a Sales Navigator subscription and has no outreach of its own.
    • Matchr verdict: cheap and tidy for business development lists.

    Dover

Dover offers a free ATS with job-board posting and a free Chrome sourcing extension, plus a marketplace of contract recruiters.

    • Price: the ATS is free and Premium is $199 a month, per Dover's pricing page.
    • Best for: early-stage startups without an ATS yet.
    • Watch for: the extension is light next to a real sourcing database.
    • Matchr verdict: a sensible free start. Move on when hiring volume grows, and compare options in our top ATS for recruiters guide.

Sourcing in the EU: check the licence before the extension

Contact data is a legal question before it is a tooling question. Under GDPR you need a lawful basis to process a candidate's personal data, a privacy notice that covers sourcing, and a way to honour deletion requests. Before a sourcer installs an extension, ask each vendor where its data comes from and whether it is hosted in the EU.

The European Commission's GDPR guidance is the place to start for the rules themselves.

Tools we dropped since the last edition

Social List's domain no longer points to a sourcing product, so it is gone. Magical's company has shifted to healthcare automation, and its text-expander extension no longer has a clear future. Interseller is being retired, Entelo has been folded into another HR platform, and Pipl now sells fraud intelligence rather than people search. Our guide on how to build a sourcing function covers what to put in their place.

There is no single best tool. For most teams the strongest pairing is LinkedIn Recruiter for search plus one AI sourcing platform, such as SeekOut or Juicebox, and one contact-data tool. Pick by the job still done by hand in your team.

What is the difference between a sourcing tool and an ATS?

A sourcing tool finds and contacts people who are not yet in your pipeline. An ATS tracks candidates once they are in a process. Some platforms, including Loxo, Gem and Dover, now blend both.

How do I clean and rediscover candidates already in my database?

Use the rediscovery features in SeekOut, Gem, hireEZ or Loxo. They re-score everyone already in your ATS against a new role, which is often the fastest and cheapest way to fill it.

Do I still need a contact-data tool if I have LinkedIn Recruiter?

Usually yes. InMail reaches people inside LinkedIn, but a direct email or mobile gets the reply from a passive candidate who rarely opens the app.

Tools find people. Someone still has to hire them

Every tool on this page will hand you a longlist faster than you could build one by hand. None of them will tell you which ten people to call first, or hear what a candidate does not say on a profile. That is still the job, and it is the one job on this page no tool can do for you.
